Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

The Basics


What is Exploration Crate?

Exploration Crate is a monthly subscription box with snacks and candies from a new country each month.

What's in the box?

Each box is filled with an array of snacks from the country of that month. Those snacks can range from candy, chocolate, chips, crackers, and any other "snacks" from that country! We've tried to balance each box with a mix of exotic and more "traditional" snacks, as well as balance sweet and savory.

 Your first box will also include a "passport" and every month you are subscribed you will get a travel sticker specially designed for each country to stick in your passport!  

How many snacks are included?

Each box comes with at least 9 different snacks, but depending on the month, we may have more! We also include enough snacks to share, so you may get more than one of the same snack. 

Can I choose which snacks I receive?

Nope, but that's the point! It's supposed to be a surprise! But, if you have any suggestions on treats for future boxes, let us know!

What is the Passport Program?

Those who have chosen to get our biggest box, the First Class Size, will be eligible for a special program called the "Passport Program". The first box you get of this size will include your "passport" and each month you are subscribed to our First Class size box you will receive a custom made travel sticker unique to the country of that month to put in your passport! Once you have collected 12 months worth of stickers in your passport, you will be rewarded with a free box! Aside from some wonderful snacks, this free box will also include some special goodies reserved only for our passport program members! So join now!

Can I get Exploration Crate if I have allergies?

While we do try to list all the ingredients for our snacks in English for you, we cannot guarantee that our snacks do not contain common allergens such as wheat, shellfish, nuts, dairy, etc. Exploration Crate cannot be held liable for any allergy related incidents. If you do have allergies to food products or are unsure whether one of our snacks  contains something you're allergic to, PLEASE do not eat that product!

Unfortunately, if you have allergies Exploration Crate may not be for you. We are sorry for any inconvenience. 

 

Shipping


When will my box ship?

All of our boxes ship at the same time for everyone each month. We take orders until the 15th of the month, and then orders for that month are closed while we prepare the boxes. Once your order has been processed and payment is received, your box will ship. A shipping notification will be sent to your email, along with a tracking number, once your box has shipped. All boxes are guaranteed to arrive before the end of the month. We do not ship on weekends or holidays.

How long before my box gets here?

Once your box has been shipped, it will arrive within 1-3 business days. All orders are guaranteed to arrive before the last day of the month. The shipping date above may be delayed for unforeseen circumstances and inclement weather. 

Where do you ship to?

Exploration Crate ships for free to any state in the U.S. At this point in time we do not ship internationally, but we hope to do so in the future!

How do I change my shipping address?

It's simple! Just log into your account, then click on my account>scroll down to your shipping address>click edit, and then change it to the updated shipping address and click save.

My products in my box were damaged, what can I do?

While we do not offer refunds, we are aware than accidents can happen and we cannot control everything that happens in transit. If your box and the contents inside were damaged, please send us photographic/video evidence to our email (help.explorationcrate@gmail.com) and we will work with you to resolve the issue. :)


Billing


When will I be billed?

If you purchase a gift, or prepay for more than one month, you are charged in full upon signup. If you purchase a subscription, you will be charged for your first month upon sign up and then on a recurring basis on the 1st of each month.

How do I change my payment method?

Log into your account>click on my account>scroll down to your payment information>click edit>update with the new information, and then click save. 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club)

How do I change my subscription?

Log into your account>click on my account>on the "Your Subscription(s)" tab click edit>choose a new subscription term>click change. Please note that month to month subscription plans need to be updated before the 1st of the month, otherwise your payment method will be charged for the plan we have on file. If you have prepaid for a subscription, it's important to note that if you change your product or term for your subscription, the changes won't take effect until the prepaid subscription term ends. This is because that prepay and its shipments were already paid and accounted for. If you want or need to make a change immediately, you can always contact us (by sending an email to help.explorationcrate@gmail.com) with any questions or for assistance.  

Can I cancel my subscription to Exploration Crate?

Yes, but we would like to remind you that if you need a break, you can skip your next renewal and come back next month! We'd hate to see you go! But if there's nothing more we can do....Log in to your account>click my account>on "your subscription(s)" click edit> and you can choose to either skip next renewal, or cancel subscription. After you make your choice, make sure to save. :) If you have prepaid for your subscription, it's important to note that if you change your product or term for your subscription, the changes won't take effect until the prepaid subscription term ends. This is because that prepay and its shipments were already paid and accounted for. If you want or need to make a change immediately, you can always contact us (by sending an email to help.explorationcrate@gmail.com) with any questions or for assistance.

What is the deadline to cancel if I don't want next month's box?

Recurring subscriptions renew each month on the 1st of the month, so you have until the last day of the month to cancel. For example, if I don't want a box in March, I need to cancel by Feb. 28th or else I will be renewed on March 1st.

Do you offer refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. If you have a problem with your box or any billing, feel free to email us at help.explorationcrate@gmail.com and we will work with you to solve the issue.


Gifts


Can I give Exploration Crate as a gift?

Of course! And what a lovely gift it is! To give exploration crate as a gift, simply click on the subscribe tab and scroll down to the dialog box that says "Shopping for someone else? Give a gift" and click on give a gift. Then, choose whether you want to give the gift of Exploration for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months! Enter the billing and shipping information, make sure the box for "this is a gift" is checked, and bam! You've just gifted someone a tasty gift!Remember, gifts are one time and do not auto renew.

Will my gift auto renew?

No. Gifts do not auto renew. For example, if you bought a 1 month subscription for a friend, once they have gotten their box for that month, they will not get another or be re-billed for the next month unless they sign up for a new subscription. :)

Are gifts eligible for the Passport Program?

Yes! If you decide to buy our First Class (Large) size box for someone, they will receive their passport and start with the program!
